An Italian corner on 71st Street

A corner with years of gelato behind it. A new chapter as Firenze. And the people who make it part of their day.

A new chapter

The corner you know. A new hello.

Italian gelato has been served on this corner of 71st Street for years. In 2026, the shop was renovated and reopened as Firenze.

A new name. A renewed space. And an Italian café in North Beach where a stop for gelato can become part of your day.

The people you come back to

Good coffee. Kind faces.

Pietro and his team welcome you every day, and regulars are quick to congratulate him.

For the regulars, the faces behind the counter have familiar names. Agustina. Ana. Candy. Junette.

Many come for Agustina’s cappuccino. Others stop in for a macchiato or a gelato. It’s the coffee, and it’s the welcome. Small things that make a place part of the neighborhood.

A little time at Firenze

Morning regulars. Weekend families.

Some visits are part of the morning routine. Some are a weekend stop with the family. And some are a chance to sit with a coffee and get a little work done.

An espresso on your own. Gelato together. Something savory when you’re hungry. There’s more than one way to spend a little time here.

Across the counter

A little for now. A little for later.

Gelato and Italian pastries. Focaccias and burrata. A cappuccino alongside something sweet, or a savory plate for a change.

You’ll also find Benedetto Cavalieri pasta to take home. A little of the counter’s Italian spirit, for later. The selection varies, so ask us what’s available when you come by.

Come be part of the day.
